Inspired by Dorothea Lange, we worked on capturing "Human Struggle" through portraits. We had a goal to capture a human subject that would represent humanity. We learned the technicalities of portraits and went out to find our human subjects. These photos were then put into a Photoshop process to enhance the photos and be inverted into negatives. We actually developed these photos on our own by printing out the negatives and developing them onto photo emulsion paper. We went through the whole chemistry process of creating silver nitrate photo emulsion and coated paper. We worked hard to make sure each photo came out clearly and came across many difficulties. We also have written"Picture Says a Thousand Words" writing pieces to explain in different perspectives how the photo demonstrated "Human Struggle".
Dorothea lange
In Humanites, we learned about an important documentary photographer that is most known for her work during The Great Depression named Dorothea Lange. In this project, we demonstrated how a "Picture Says a Thousand Words". We each picked one of her photographs and wrote five 200-word writing pieces, each discussing a different perspective. Below is my finished product, but if you would like to clearly read each of my writing pieces, click on this document.
